Introduction to Betting System

It was then and still now a concern for casino players to know how they can improve their winning odds on casino games. Because of this concern, there has been the invention of different betting systems throughout the past years.

Many betting systems are popular these days, and you can easily read about them in this age of the Internet.

People apply betting systems to reduce their losses. Casino betting systems are there so that players get as many chances as possible to make their wins outweigh their losses over time.

There are different betting systems used by players today, especially on even-money bets of casino games like roulette.

We will here compare two popular betting systems that go by names: Martingale and Paroli. Martingale and Paroli betting systems are polar opposite to each other.

So, go through this article to know the ins and outs of these two betting systems so that you can decide which one is better for you.

You can test these betting systems in online roulette real money India, and other casino games.

What is Martingale Betting System?

Martingale betting system is straightforward. Some players might be applying this betting system without knowing that it is called Martingale.

According to this betting system, the player doubles the bet every time they lose so that the earlier losses can be recouped with a single win. After a win, the player reverts to their initial bet size and starts the process again.

This betting system works on even money bets in casino games like Roulette, Baccarat, Blackjack, Craps, etc.

To understand how this strategy works, let’s consider an example. Suppose you placed even money bets of ₹100, ₹200, ₹400 as your first, second, and third bets, respectively, following the Martingale system.

You doubled up your bets because you lost your first and second bets. After losing the third bet again, your total loss becomes ₹700.

Now you bet ₹800 as your fourth bet, and this time, you win. You are paid even money, and so you win ₹800. So, up to this, you make a profit of ₹800 – ₹700, i.e. ₹100. So, you not only recoup your earlier losses but also make some profit.

This is how the Martingale betting system works. Of course, there is a catch which we will discuss later.

What is Paroli Betting System?

Paroli betting system is a betting system in which players have to double up their bet after each win but not after a loss.

The player keeps doubling their bet until the player gets three consecutive wins. After 3 consecutive wins or each loss, players revert to the initial bet size. It is also called the Reverse Martingale system.

Paroli betting system is less risky than Martingale, but you can’t recoup your earlier losses by a single win. Also, Paroli betting strategy is more consistent and stable and doesn’t require you to have a huge bankroll.

Like the Martingale betting system, the Paroli betting system works better on even money bets in casino games like Roulette and Baccarat.

Martingale vs Paroli Betting System

Martingale betting system is based on negative progression, whereas the Paroli betting system is on positive progression.

In negative progression, you increase your bet size after your loss, whereas you do so after your win in positive progression.

Negative progression betting is riskier than positive progression betting. The losing streaks in Martingale are much more expensive than that with Paroli.

Unlike the Paroli betting system, you can recoup all your earlier losses and even profit by a single win if you apply the Martingale system. However, you will be unable to double up your bet if you hit the bet limit of the casino table.

Also, there is a chance that you will empty your bankroll before you experience a single win. So, the Martingale system is risky, and you can lose a lot of money if Lady Luck is not with you.

On the other hand, the Paroli betting system is less risky, but it doesn’t pay you like Martingale. Also, the Paroli system doesn’t take full advantage if there is a long winning streak since the bet is set to the initial amount after three consecutive wins.

To take advantage of the Martingale system, you have to make sure that you don’t hit the casino table limit and need enough bankroll.

You don’t have to worry about hitting the table limit with the Paroli system. If you are near or at the table limit with Martingale and you win, then you are paid well.

To keep things simple at first, you can test these betting systems on even money bets of online casino games like Roulette and Dragon Tiger.

If you choose the latter one, then you can read our Dragon Tiger game winning tricks to further improve your gameplay.

Final Thoughts

Neither the Martingale nor the Paroli betting system guarantees your winning at online casino games. There is no such betting system that does so. Otherwise, casinos would have to shut down their business.

Also, remember that these two betting systems do not change the odds or probability of casino games, and there is still a house edge.

However, you can understand how these betting systems work and take advantage of them. They both have their advantages and disadvantages.

Knowing which one is better depends on your betting style, betting preference, and bankroll size.

If you want to take risks to win more in casino games and have sufficient bankroll, then the Martingale betting system could be better for you. But if you want to minimize the risks of losing money and preserve your bankroll for as long as possible, then you can go with the Paroli betting system.

Last but not least, always play casino games responsibly by setting aside a budget and keeping track of your wins and losses.
