IPL 2022 Format

All 10 teams will play 14 games, twice against the same five opponents and once against each four other.

Qualifier 1 will be played by the first and second teams on the point table. the third and fourth-placed teams will play eliminators. Then after, the winner of the Eliminators and the loser in Qualifier 1 will play Qualifier 2. The winner of Q2 and Q1 will be the final team for IPL 2022.

New Rules of IPL 2022
- The decision review System is upgrading this season. In the previous IPL, players allow using only one time DRS per innings. But from this season players can review 2 times in 1 inning.
- The striker will be the new batsman whether the batsman crosses the half-pitch or not.
- BCCI can reschedule the match later if any cases occurred by the covid 19 with any teams. If it would not possible then IPL technical team will find the issues.
- The high-ranked team would be the winner in the playoffs/final matches if super over and subsequent super over will not get any final result.
IPL 2022 Bio Bubble Rules
If a team intentionally permits an outsider into the team bubble, it could be fined up to Rs 1 crore for the first violation, If it happens in the future again then one or two points deduction from the team’s total.
Here is the penalization for bubble violations by a player or official teams
- Through IPL 2022, there will be a 7-day re-quarantine period or any other duration specified in the Health & Safety Protocols.
- After the completion of the 7-day quarantine or such other time quarantine as may be provided in the Health & Safety Protocols during the IPL 2022, a one-match suspension (without pay) will be implemented.
- Could be removed from the registered team for the rest of the season.
Context of the family members
- It could be 7 days or more days of quarantine for the family members as in the Health & Safety Protocols during IPL 2022.
- Permanent exclusion of both the friend or family member from the bubble for the rest of the season, and also a seven-day quarantine for the concerned Player, Team, or Match Official, or such other term quarantine as may be given in the Health & Safety formalities during the IPL 2022.
Fixture and schedule
IPL 2022 is scheduled for March 26 to May 29. Ten teams will compete in this mega cricket tournament. A total of 74 (including playoffs) matches will be played in this competition.
