India was struggling to locate a wicket-keeper in the cricket group at the beginning of the year 2000. A few years later after the World Cup 2003, MS Dhoni went to the front. It was the year 2004 when the long-haired cricketer came to the Indian cricket team and made his introduction for India cricket in an ODI against Bangladesh. And after that everyone knows, that the events are historical for Indian cricket. It is broadly recognized that it was his choice to give Dhoni a chance to prove his skill in the team.

Be that as it may, he wouldn’t like to assume the praise and figures it was his business to pick the best players in the group. In a discussion with the opener Mayank Agarwal of the Indian cricket team, the ex-captain and BCCI chief, Sourav Ganguly said Dhoni played just because of his nation. In spite of the fact that very few were in support of himself, the choice, in the end, ended up being a masterstroke.

Now, Ganguly has revealed as well that he listened to his instincts. His gut feeling told him to ask the selectors to choose Dhoni. Ganguly trusted the young players would play well due to the fire they have in them.

Ganguly trusted Dhoni as one of the greatest players in world cricket

MS Dhoni didn’t get looking extraordinary so far to his universal vocation getting run-out for a duck in his absolute first game. Or maybe his commitment in his initial four ODIs was near nothing. In the fifth game, he elevated the request against Pakistan to bat in Vizag. For his India cricket team, he batted and scored 148 runs. Sourav Ganguly on remembering this raised a point, which said that the wicketkeeper-batsman was a good batsman along with a great finisher of the game.
