Chelsea hosts Manchester City this Thursday (25) at Stamford Bridge, for the 31st round of the Premier League. If Guardiola’s team doesn’t win tonight, Liverpool will be crowned champions. For Chelsea, a win is crucial to keep their place in the league’s Top-4. Check our match preview and betting prediction for tonight’s match.

Chelsea to secure their position in league’s top-4

Chelsea had an impressive comeback win at Aston Villa on league’s return last week. Pulisic and Olivier Giroud gave Chelsea the lead after being down at half-time. That win opened a 5-point advantage over Manchester United, but the Red Devils won yesterday against Sheffield United and moved closer to Chelsea’s 4th position.

Chelsea have already been beaten 8 times this season at Stamford Bridge across all competitions and won more Premier League points on the road. The team won just 7 of the 15 Premier League games at home.

With 4 wins in their last 5 home matches across all competitions, Chelsea will try to avenge their 6-0 loss at the Etihad Stadium last February. The Citizens were a nightmare for Lampard’s team that evening, opening up a 4-0 advantage in the first 25 minutes of the game.

Chelsea predicted line-up

Arrizabalaga; Azpilicueta, Christensen, Rudiger, Alonso; Kante, Jorginho, Kovacic; Willian, Pulisic, Giroud.

Man City looking sharp after the break

After their 3-0 win at the Etihad Stadium against Arsenal in the opening round, the Citizens added 5 more against Burnley on Monday. The team looks very sharp and with a lot of options for Pep Guardiola. From Arsenal’s match to the one against Burnley, Guardiola rested 8 first-team options and City still performed at a high level. That should play an important role tonight.

Manchester City is safe in second place and anything but a win tonight at Stamford Bridge will decide the title in favor of Liverpool.

For Guardiola’s team, there are still important titles to fight for this season. Manchester City is still in the English Cup and the Champions League.

Manchester City predicted line-up

Ederson; Walker, Fernandinho, Laporte, Mendy; de Bruyne, Rodri, Gundogan; Mahrez, Sterling, Jesus.

Betting Prediction

Even with Aguero’s injury that will probably take him out for the rest of the season, Manchester City is still the favorite for tonight’s match. Look for the visitors to win, in a game we expect both teams to score!
